Welcome to the website of Attic Books, one of Canada's largest antiquarian and second-hand bookstores. We have three floors of books, maps, prints, paper collectibles, such as ephemera and postcards, and eccentric antiques that appeal to readers, scholars and seasoned collectors alike. We also retail Colour by Schubert's photo cards and Charles Van Sandwyk's Fine Art Cards and Books. The atmosphere is spacious, bright, relaxed and professional, not to mention architecturally beautiful, with its original tin ceilings, hardwood maple floors and all the charisma of a century building. This, along with the help of our friendly and knowledgeable staff, will ensure that every visit to Attic Books will be memorable.

Prorogued Window Display

As people walk past Attic Books' storefront, they are greeted with a rare sight in our display windows. Our left store front window is empty with the exception of a small sign explaining it's significance. Marvin Post has prorogued his store window in honour of the decision to prorouge Parliment. It is a rare occurance when Marvin allows political protests at his store, let alone creates one himself. Comments on this small protest have been for the large part positive and have lead to interesting and insightful debates throughout the store.

Come in to the store for a glance at our fancy Langford canoe. In the north east corner of the store, our canoe is all wood, and is available for purchase at $3500.00 (was $4500.00). Langford is Canada's oldest maker of canoes, and this cedar canoe comes from a long tradition of wood canoe making.

Now at par with the US prices, one can learn all there is to the book industry, either the terms and definitions of book collecting or binding or the history of the print trade and culture.
